Among other pipe fittings, the assemblies include bends made using a horn-shaped mandrel and stamped pipe adapters made by Pipe Bends Plant.
The subassemblies are intended for upgrading Chelyabinsk GRES – a vital source of municipal heat and power supply. Between March and December 2014, Rimera's plant supplied a full set of 550 product units for the first power unit along with 554 subassemblies for the second power unit. Shipments for the second power unit will be completed by mid-February 2015.
This project is the first time that the plant has cooperated with a power industry company (Pipe Bends Plant specializes in making pipe fittings for the leading oil and gas companies). As part of preparations for this project, Pipe Bends Plant obtained a special permit from the Boiler Oversight Agency to supply pipe fittings, including subassemblies, for thermal power plants.
“Our pipe spools shop has filled the order on time and up to high quality standards. Thanks to this new partnership that is of strategic importance to us, our experts have improved essential skills producing a diverse product mix of thin-walled pipe fittings and splitting up the client's process flows into separate subassemblies that can be conveniently transported and installed,” says Pipe Bends Plant Executive Director Leonid Malamud.
