The certification process consisted of two stages. Stage one involved certification of hot bends for transmission pipelines for compliance with ISO 15590-1:2001. A 1,422х32 mm hot bend was produced for testing purposes. Stage two involved certification of the process of manufacturing induction heating bends for compliance with the requirements of the European Directive PED 97/23/EC. Tests were performed on products intended for process piping and steam and hot water pipelines. The 323.9х9.5 mm test bend was made from a foreign-made one-inch stock pipe of steel grade P265GH-TC1. During the certification process, each standard production operation—from the receiving inspection to mechanical tests—was performed in the presence of Russian and international representatives of TUV SUD certification authority.
“Experts remarked on the high quality of organization of production processes at Pipe Bends Plant and confirmed that the test specimens fully conform to the requirements of the EU standards and directive. We can provide the required equipment and appropriately qualified professionals for each potential order,” says Pipe Bends Plant Executive Director Leonid Malamud.
As reported earlier, Pipe Bends Plant has been certified for compliance with Russian and international standards (GOST, ISO 9001, API). Rimera's plant is on the list of Gazprom and Transneft approved suppliers.
