The conference was organized by JSC VNIPIpromtekhnologii (a part of the control loop of ARMZ Uranium Holding), with the support of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RANS).
The conference brought together more than a hundred participants from Russia, Germany, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. During the two days of plenary sessions. 25 papers were presented, covering all types of innovations in mining and mineral processing, starting from building lunar bases using gyroscopic robots through the use of bacteria to produce metal sulfides and up to application of remote-controlled vehicles in open stopes in rock mass.
In addition, the round table on ion-exchange resins attracted great interest among the participants, despite its highly specialized topics.
The conference was opened by Scientific Secretary of JSC VNIPIpromtekhnologii E.N. Kamnev and Honorary President of the Academy of Natural Sciences V. Zh. Arens, who wished the participants a successful and fruitful work.
The working program of the conference was started by the Director of VNIPIpromtekhnologii Alexei Starodumov, First Deputy Director, Executive Director of JSC Atomredmetzoloto Victor Svyatetsky, and Professor E.V. Kuzmin. They presented relevant reports "Defining parameters of level open stoping system with remotely controlled LHDs and preliminary reinforcement of stope profile" and "Application of backfill using uranium ore tailings at PJSC PIMCU", the latter made by the Director of JSC VNIPIpromtekhnologii.
In the final part of the event all participants unanimously praised the high level of organization and, most importantly, topicality of the conference program and an opportunity to share information about new technologies in mining and concentration industries. In the future, JSC VNIPIpromtekhnologii plans to hold similar events regularly at its site.
