Мая 14, 2015

The corresponding decree was signed by Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

The decision of the Government of the Russian Federation is very important for further development of Krasnokamensk. Now, in accordance with the applicable law, the city can apply for additional grants from the federal budget to create new jobs not related to activities of the backbone enterprise of the town. "Given this perspective, the Government of Trans-Baikal Territory established an industrial park in Krasnokamensk. Potential residents of the park are offered free land, both including the so-called greenfield sites intended for industrial construction or agriculture, as well as complete storage and industrial premises – brownfield sites. The town of Krasnokamensk stands out in terms of its developed infrastructure,"- says the Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Tax Policy of the Legislative Assembly of Trans-Baikal Territory, Vladimir Khorokhordin.

The recommendation for inclusion of Krasnokamensk in the list of Category I Single-Industry Towns was adopted after the meeting of the Coordinating Council on Social and Economic Development of the Baikal region under the Plenipotentiary of the RF President in the Siberian Federal District. "We will pay special attention to the development of Krasnokamensk. Its prospects are much better than in many other cities and areas of the Baikal region", - said at the meeting the Plenipotentiary of the President Nikolai Rogozhkin.

The backbone enterprise of the area is the Russia's largest uranium mining company - PJSC "Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union" (PJSC PIMCU, a part of the control loop of ARMZ Uranium Holding / JSC Atomredmetzoloto).
"For PJSC PIMCU, this decision means further development prospects for many decades. Now we look forward to the next step of the country's leadership – inclusion of infrastructure projects of Krasnokamensk as a priority socio-economic development area (PSEDA) in the emerging Federal Targeted Program "Economic and Social Development of the Far East and the Baikal region for the period up to 2025", - says General Director of ARMZ Uranium Holding Vladimir Verkhovtsev.

Inclusion of the Baikal region municipalities according to the established procedure in the list of territories covered by the Federal Law "On Priority Socio-Economic Development Areas in the Russian Federation" was recommended after the meeting of the roundtable on "Legislative support of the uranium mining industry", held at the Federation Council.
