In particular, Gazprom International was represented at this event by Maksut Anderzhanov, the Director of the Representative Office in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Erkin Mamadzhanov, the Head of the Production Sector.
During the exhibitions, they have had a number of meetings with representatives of the local and foreign investment and expert community and their colleagues from the world’s most prominent oil and gas companies.
The forum also involved a scientific and technical conference, with issues like the development of oil and gas industry in Uzbekistan, new technologies, fund raising, LNG object development and many more subjects on the agenda thereof.
Candidate of Engineering Sciences Azizbek Nazarov, working for the representative office of Gazprom International, has presented his scientific report “System issues regarding the optimization of oil and gas production at protractedly mined deposits with hard to recover reserves”.
OGU - 2015 was held by the National Holding Company Uzbekneftegaz. This year, the event was timed to coincide with the 130th anniversary of industrial oil extraction in Uzbekistan and featured about 200 companies from 20 different countries. According to the media of Uzbekistan, the attendance over this three-day period was above the level of 8 thousand guests.
Gazprom International, the sole Gazprom’s company specializing in foreign prospecting, exploration, development and production of hydrocarbons, has been cooperating with the Republic of Uzbekistan since 2002. Within the boundaries of the Production Sharing Agreement made with the Uzbek partners in 2004, Gazprom International is in charge of further development and facility construction at the Shakhpakhty field within the territory of Karakalpakstan as an operator. The amount of gas produced here since 2004 amounts to over 3 billion cubic meters already.
In 2012, Gazprom International has completed the multistage geological exploration program for the investment blocks of the Ustyurt Region, which has also resulted in the opening of the Dzhel gas condensate field in 2009. The total volume of investment in the exploration project in Uzbekistan is estimated at 400 million US dollars.
