The Cooperation Agreement envisages a joint implementation of strategic projects, development and introduction of import substitution hardware and technologies for the business lines of Rosneft and its subsidiaries.
The parties expressed interest in establishing cooperation in the following areas: exploration technologies and equipment; Arctic off-shore fields operation and support, including ice-breaker assistance by Atomflot vessels to ships and marine hardware during off-shore oil field operations; process control and measurement; energy efficiency; industrial safety and environmental protection.
Under the Cooperation Agreement Rosneft and Rosatom will develop and approve a Scientific Technical Cooperation Program. To carry out the program the parties plan to exchange information on current and future needs of Rosneft and its subsidiaries in Rosatom’s and its companies’ products and services, test equipment prototypes of products; employ Rosatom’s best companies’ scientific-technical and manufacturing capacity in the interest of research and development.
Commenting on the Agreement, Igor Sechin said: “Our cooperation with Rosatom is has strategic nature and is aimed at import substitution of certain technologies. Rosneft is ready to expand this cooperation.”
In his turn, Sergey Kirienko replied: “We are ready to offer Rosneft development and implementation of equipment and technologies that correspond to import analogs. Our production capacity and expertise allow us to do that. We are talking about geological exploration equipment, delivery of automation management systems, control systems, pumping equipment, and security control units.”
Rosneft and Rosatom have amassed an impressive cooperation experience. Atomflot ice-breakers were deployed in large scale research expeditions of Kara-winter and Kara-summer mounted by Rosneft, as well as in off-shore geological exploration to furnish ice-breaker assistance to ships and marine hardware.
Meeting the needs of Rosneft, Rosatom is already designing well logging hardware systems. Pilot sites have been identified for the trials of pressure gages in the Udmurt Republic, Samotlor and Vankor.
