The study will be conducted in the territories of the Kirov Oblast, Perm Krai, and the Republic of Udmurtia. Work on the site has been in progress since 2013. At this stage, the third, the specialists are to identify the potential zones of oil and gas accumulation and evaluate the Category D1 loc resources, and also prepare recommendations for optimizing and conducting further geological prospecting and exploration for oil and gas.
“We have already analyzed the geological and geophysical information from regional and zonal-regional seismic surveys conducted in the last decade, as well as the results of deep drilling and well logging; we have carried out structural and paleographic conversion of certain oil and gas complexes of Paleozoic and Upper Proterozoic formations; we have compiled charts of the regionally and locally developed collectors and impermeable seams and their quality,” recounts Aleksandra Shibanova, head of the JSC KamNIIKIGS section Oil and Gas in Northern Volga-Ural OGP Districts. “We are currently conducting oil and gas geological demarcation of the territory, with identification of oil and gas accumulation zones. Evaluation of the predicted hydrocarbon resources of the unexplored part of the region in the unallocated land stock is currently underway.”
The work is being carried out under a government contract signed in June 2013 between the Department of Subsoil Resource Management of the Volga Federal District and FGUPl NVNIIGG. KamNIIKIGS is involved as a subcontractor. Work is scheduled to be completed in 3Q 2015.
