The contract for manufacture and delivery of the hydraulic equipment for the Kygy hydroelectric power plant being constructed in Tukey was entered into by Power Machines and the Turkish company DSI (Directorate for State Hydraulic Works of the General State Agency for Water Resources under the Ministry for Forestry and Hydraulic Works) in December 2013.
Pursuant to the contract, Power Machines is to manufacture and supplyelectromechanical equipment for the hydroelectric power plant on a turnkey basis, including three 46.6 MW hydroturbines with pre-turbine gates, three generators ofsimilar capacity, all electromechanical equipment for the machine hall, and a switch yard. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2016, with the commissioning of the power plant’s three hydraulic units.
Thus far, the first out of the three hydraulic units has been delivered to the HPP construction site, and the other two units have been shipped. Power Machines also manufactured two hydraulic turbine runners; manufacture of the hydraulic turbines and the last runner, the third one, is underway.
The participation of Power Machines in the Kygy HPP construction project has continued the successful activity conducted by the Russian power engineering company in Turkey. For example, in 2008, Power Machines implemented an equipment supply and installation supervision project for Torul HPP.
Earlier, Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod and Eleсtrosila, which are parts of Power Machines, manufactured and supplied a 210 MW steam turbine complete with a generator for Orhaneli TPP, as well as two steam turbines with capacity of 55 MW each for Iskenderun TPP in Turkey. Furthermore, Taganrog Boiler-Making Works Krasny Kotelshchik, a part of Power Machines, supplied six boilers for all of the power plant units.
The company’s regional branch has operated in Turkey since 2003.
