The technical arrangements were implemented by central maintenance departments of Tikhoretsk and Krasnodar regional oil trunk pipeline departments, and by contractors.
On 28-31 July 2015, the maintenance crews eliminated about ten defects at three facilities. Replacement of two sections at linear portions of the Grozny-Baku OTP became a crucial stage. The technical upgrading also concerned the stop valves – one valve was repaired, and three linear units were additionally tied in. The units were assembled under the pitless technology adoption program (the technology rules out the use of pits when displacing oil from the pipe). The technology enables to rule out oil pumping from the pipeline into additional tanks for the period of pipeline repairs and to reduce the overall volume of oil pumping at the portion being repaired. Upgrading will enable to drastically cut the repair time, operation costs and to minimize the company’s industrial risks.
A holistic approach to the scheduled repairs of oil transportation facilities at Chernomortransneft, JSC ensures trouble-free operation of the entire engineering infrastructure, a high level of environmental safety.
