According to the specialists of CPC Western Region, the work was performed in full compliance with the approved program of testing. As part of this test, three mainline pumps were started one by one and they ran in various operational regimes. The test was attended by the original equipment manufacturer representatives who found no issues with the equipment during the test.
PS-7 was constructed under phase two of the project of expansion of CPC pipeline system. Nine modular building were constructed in the station; over 220 km of power and instrument cables were pulled; over 3700 pieces of mechanical equipment were installed.
It is worth mentioning that in June 2015 similar work was also successfully performed in PS Atyrau (CPC Eastern Region). The same scope was performed in PS-3 (Central Region) in July and in PS Tengiz (Eastern Region) in August.
CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.
