Transneft Druzhba Commissioned the Utility Vehicle and Special-Purpose Machinery Department

The utility vehicle and special-purpose machinery department of the Novgorod Regional Department had been constructed within the investment programme of Transneft Druzhba, JSC for one year and four months.

The goal of the department is to ensure safe and failure-free operation of vehicles and special-purpose machinery and organize quality passenger transportation for NRD workers as well as cargo transportation.

Number of the UV&SPMD staff is 176 people. The department will conduct the repair and routine maintenance of the utility vehicle and special-purpose machinery, organize the transportation of repair teams for servicing the equipment used at the oil pump stations and in the line section of Baltic Pipeline System II (BPS-2). For this purpose, UV&SPMD is provided with the up-to-date lifting, repair, and tire fitting equipment.

Total area of the department is over 10 hectares. 65,000 sqm of them are occupied by twelve production facilities: open and enclosed parking, repair shops, storage rooms, boiler house and other facilities. Water and gas networks are laid, landscaping is conducted, and an access road is constructed in the territory. Modern, domestic materials and equipment enabling a heat and electric energy saving, which corresponds to the principals of the environmental and energy policies of Transneft, JSC, were used in the construction.

Sergey Mitin, Governor of Novgorod Region, and Oleg Bogomolov, Director General of Transneft Druzhba, JSC, participated in the UV&SPMD opening ceremony.

“Construction of the utility vehicle department will notably improve the labor conditions for 170 people. Today, we verified that good conditions for the work of drivers, dispatchers, and repair personnel are created,” Oleg Bogomolov noted.

According to the results of the visit to UV&SPMD Sergey Mitin, Governor of Novgorod Region, said, “The facility is great, first of all by its dimensions. Opening of the department made a significant contribution to the development of the regional job market. The department is wisely designed and constructed, fully provided with heat and electric energy, and has its own repair base, storages, and well equipped work stations.”

Novgorod Regional Department was established in 2011 for serving the Baltic Pipeline System II (BPS-2). Length of the trunk oil pipelines of the system crossing the territories of Bryansk, Smolensk, Tver, Novgorod, and Leningrad Regions to the Port of Ust-Luga is 1,000 km. Two oil pump stations were reconstructed and oil pump stations NPS-3 in Smolensk Region and NPS-7 in Novgorod Region as well as a tank farm for 400,000 cubic meters and the port of Ust-Luga were constructed within the implementation of the BPS-2 project.
