A third turbine modernized by "Turboatom" was commissioned at Novosibirsk HPP

A Kaplan turbine (station No. 5) at Novosibirsk HPP (Russia) was commissioned with the participation of a group of experts of commissioning and installation supervision of PJSC "Turboatom" in November 2015. This is the third of the seven turbines, modernized by the enterprise.

A new runner with diameter of 8 m, with oil-free sleeve and improved energy and cavitation characteristics was installed in the hydraulic unit. The runner has five blades instead of four, changed geometry of the blades themselves, as well as increased efficiency. In addition, "Turboatom" manufactured and supplied embedded parts, turbine mechanisms, including the guide vanes, turbine shafts, bearings, seals, and other items.

After commissioning and successfully conducted 72-hour load test the aggregate was handed over for commercial operation, whereat was signed the corresponding act. Power and vibration characteristics, the pressure under the cover of hydraulic turbine were tested during the pre-commissioning. All controlled parameters correspond to norms.

In October of current year, the plant started production of the next hydroelectric unit (station No. 3), which will be commissioned in 2016.
