The survey is financed from the federal budget within the frames of a new (second generation) geological mapping of GDP-200. The appropriate government contract was signed with the company in March 2014. The client is the Department of Subsoil Resources Management of the Volga Federal District.
The area of survey totaling 5,132 km2 is located in the Orenburg Region and in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Within the frames of the project, the holding specialists have plotted and digitized the maps of geological pre-Mesozoic and Quarternary formations, as well as of mineral resources. Geochemical basic mapping has been also fulfilled. Currently maps vectorization is being completed. Both industrial, and geochemical anomalies associated with mineral resources have been outlined in the maps.
On the basis of space survey data, a copper-zinc sulfide mineralization map has been updated. Based on space structural and spectral data, 4 prospective areas have been contoured. Remote-base multi-spectral mapping has been fulfilled. Key geological tasks have been defined, as well as the methodology, types and scope of work required for GDP-200 geological mapping. Reference sites, well drill locations and basic geological traverses have been preliminary planned.
The final geological report is being compiled within the frames of the government contract and will be delivered to the Client by the end of the year.
