European Forum of Nuclear Industry Suppliers ATOMEX – Europe 2015 opened in Budapest

The event is held by Rosatom with the aim of strengthening and further developing its partnership with European suppliers.

This is the 6th international Forum that has become a successful communication platform offering opportunities to suppliers for a direct and open dialogue with the Russian nuclear industry representatives.
 
Kirill Komarov, First Deputy CEO for Corporate Development and International Business, and Attila Aszódi, the commissioner of the Government of Hungary for maintenance of Paks NPP capacity, addressed the audience with welcome speeches at the Forum’s opening session.
 
Kirill Komarov emphasized the importance of the Russian-Hungarian cooperation in the nuclear industry. ‘Today, Rosatom holds a world-leading position for the number of NPPs that are under simultaneous construction abroad. We have 43 power units at various construction stages: 9 units are in Russia and 34 units are abroad including the countries of Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Our projects provide European suppliers with a great opportunity to apply their technologies’, he stated.
 
Kirill Komarov also pointed out that the number of Rosatom’s partners is increasing every year, with the development of international supply chain and localization being the priorities in Rosatom’s global strategy. ‘Rosatom’s procurements are performed as open tendering through electronic trading system. Our supply chain includes over 24 thousand Russian and foreign companies. The number of our suppliers has increased by 24 times for 5 years’, said the speaker.
 
Attila Aszódi particularly noted that ‘Hungary staked on the nuclear energy which along with the renewable energy is necessary to fulfill the Hungary’s commitments under the climatic policy’.
 
The business program includes the session with participation of Rosatom’s leading enterprises and key European partners. ASE Group of Companies, Rusatom Overseas, Rosenergoatom Concern, Atomenergomash presented the international cooperation perspectives within their projects, while such global giants as AREVA, Rolls-Royce, Siemens and others told about their experience of cooperation with Rosatom.
 
Alexander Merten, President of Rosatom – International Network, told the conference participants about Rosatom’s global development. The Session on Rosatom’s procurement activities took place on the first day of the Forum.
 
Round Tables devoted to the international cooperation in NPP design, construction, modernization and maintenance were held on December 1. Besides, B2B meetings will be organized for European suppliers and representatives of the Russian nuclear industry.
 
The Forum’s participants are the leading Russian and foreign executives and representatives of the nuclear companies, enterprises, over 300 people from 14 countries in total.
