Representatives of PJSC "Turboatom" took part in Seminar of Suppliers of turbine equipment for Armenian NPP. A report on subject of the conference was made by Victor Shvetsov.
Seminar summed up work on preliminary preparation of proposals for renovation and modernization of two turbines K-220-44 Unit No 2 of Armenian NPP. The need for renovation of equipment arose due to the fact that in 2016 expires 30-years service life of turbines, which provided by technical specifications. In addition, work of Armenian NPP is planned to be extended for another 10 years.
"Turboatom" offered a number of measures for renovation and modernization of turbines that meet goals set by nuclear power plant and Management Company. This extension of service life, increase of equipment reliability, its maintainability, increase of overhaul life, increased of capacity and actual power generation. Estimated scope of turbine modernization includes replacing of flow parts of High Pressure Cylinder (HPC) with use of seven step-type flow part, installation of new casing of HPC more resistant to erosion processes. It is also planned to replace flow part of Low Pressure Cylinder (LPC) using blade of the last stage with length 1030 mm and replacement of inner casing of Low Pressure Cylinder, rotor and diaphragms.
Offers of Kharkiv plant were discussed in detail. In addition, proposals of PJSC "Turboatom" to replace condenser with copper-nickel alloy pipe systems for condenser of block-modular design with pipe systems made of titanium alloy have been considered.
In the shortest run work on formation of technical project of modernization of turbine and condenser will be finished. Then Ministry of Energy of Armenia will determine final scope of restoration works and then continue pre-contract work.
It is expected that in 2017, during 90 days on Unit No 2 should be modernized turbine No 4 with condenser, in 2018 – during 120 days turbine No 3 with condenser.
From 1974 to 1979 for Armenian NPP PJSC "Turboatom" supplied 4 turbines with capacity 220 MW.
