Implementation of SE Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant decommissioning Project B1 and Project B2/3/4 and progress in INPP decommissioning were discussed at Assembly of Contributors of International Ignalina Decommissioning Support Fund held in London.
Major achievements, such as pre-commissioning of ISFSF (Project B1), start of pre-commissioning of SWMSF (Project B234), resolution of spent nuclear fuel casks safety assurance issue, in addition to the signing of new contract amendment for the Project B1 that negates all current and historical claims, have received positive feedback.
During the meeting, representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development highlighted the importance of found resolution between INPP and the Contractor and their ability to solve issues constructively. They thanked for the established compromise, which means that commercial issues of the Project B1 can be resolved without increasing the cost of the Project.
