Under the contract technical solutions are to be proposed to design and build 6-20 KV power transmission lines to meet new demand for electricity as new housing is constructed in Moscow and power loads increase across the capital, including in the territory of the so called New Moscow.
Inter RAO - Engineering won a bidding organized by Moscow’s Department of Fuel and Energy to select a contractor for the development of the capital’s 6-20KV electric power distribution grid through 2030. Inter RAO - Engineering specialists will analyze the current state of the capital’s electrical grid and then develop a program for retrofitting the existing power transmission lines and constructing new ones. In addition, the demand for investments will be assessed.
The plan will allow for an increase in electrical loads and the current plans for the construction of new generating capacity in Moscow, including new power plants in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky (New Moscow) administrative districts. The country’s leading power engineering school, Moscow Power Engineering Institute, is to be involved in the project.
The contract is worth RUB 117 million. The plan is to be completed within 6 months.
The power supply plan for Moscow is a key document needed for the development of a balanced design and construction program for urban utilities system and installations in the territory of the city to ensure integrated development of the city’s power grid in conjunction with other programs for the development of the electrical grid, generating capacity, residential and other types of construction. The document is to be approved by the Government of Moscow. Implementing the plan will help improve the reliability of power supply for existing and new consumers in Moscow.
