In December 2015, machine was put into operation. Modernization, installation and adjustment of the equipment was made by specialists of the company "Waldrich Coburg" (Germany), together with engineering and maintenance services of "Turboatom". Repair works lasted for 2.5 years.
6640 F2 is designed for complex machining of large parts of steam and hydro turbines with a complex configuration, including case of turbines blades and vanes.
Determining units of 6640 F2, in particular, the new support was manufactured in Germany. Refurbished cross, table and bed. They also made a new system of coolant, oil station, hydraulic system, complete replacement of mechanical and electrical parts.
The machine is equipped with the necessary heads and a new 5-axis head with CNC system. On a bed installed a new CNC system from Siemens last modification.
As noted Chief Engineer Gregory Ishchenko, as a result of modernization in full restored and enhanced passport data 6640 F2 and its performance. "The new 6640 F2 ergonomic enough, it will allow us to save energy by reducing system power consumption. We can also talk about reducing production cycles, reducing complexity by combining operations of the process and improve accuracy and quality of machining. Now training of our colleagues working on the new equipment completed. We have been successfully treated with the test details and took the machine into operation".
In 2015, under the program of technical re-equipment in addition to 6640 F 2 "Turboatom" made overhaul and modernization of two large machining centers, HC-33F2 in steam turbine workshop (No 53) and Skoda W200 in hydroturbine workshop (No83).
In addition, the third stage of modernization of foundry production in frame of which company has installed modern system of gas purification and reconstructed furnace in the foundry.
