Dismantling quantities are increasing each year since the shutdown of the plant. 2844 tons of equipment and related structures have been dismantled in 2010, 3125 tons in 2011, 3557 tons in 2012, 5118 tons in 2013, 7188 tons in 2014, and 8686 tons in 2015.
According to the Final Ignalina NPP Decommissioning Plan, it is planned to dismantle 129.7 thousand tons of equipment and related structures in total.
The biggest part of dismantled equipment, after the strict contamination by radionuclides measurement control, is being sold in the auctions as a scrap metal, while remaining dismantled equipment will be stored in the buffer storage until transfer to landfill facilities for final storage.
In 2010, INPP started organizing auctions for unnecessary property sale and earned 9.5 million Euro since then.
