For the purpose of unnecessary property sale, 51 auctions were organized, during which 4665 tons of various metal and equipment were sold that made it possible to earn 1,84 Million Euro.
“During the auctions the equipment not needed by the enterprise or the property accumulated during realization of decommissioning projects and performance of dismantling works were sold. Since 2010, more than 30 thousand tons of unnecessary equipment were dismantled. Following the radioactive contamination tests most of it can be sold. These sales not only increase the income of the enterprise, but also reduce the quantity of waste which should be utilized or processed/taken away to repositories or landfills.” – said INPP director Darius Janulevičius.
Besides auction sales INPP received income from other types of commercial activity. In 2015, INPP earned 0.03 million Euro as a result of property rentals. Additionally, 0.07 million Euro were earned for railroad transportation services and 0.12 million Euro for other types of commercial services.
The additional income will be spend on decommissioning projects.
During the decommissioning process since 2010, INPP earned nearly 10 million Euro.
