The decision on the replacement of the automation system at these facilities was adopted in relation to expiration of their statutory service life. Besides, by virtue of its constructional features the relay equipment did not allow complying with all the requirements of applicable guideline documents and standards used in the entities of Transneft, JSC system in full.
Advantages of the modern domestically produced automation consist in significantly larger information capacity, allowing automating all production processes of an oil pump station with higher reliability, accuracy and speed indices. As well it leaves the previous system behind as regards the level of industrial and environmental safety. And due to process optimization, reducing time, human and energy resources consumption operation costs of the facility are decreased.
The implemented automation control system not only provides centralized control for the operating processing equipment and supporting systems of OPS, but also decreases possibility of accidents and incidents related to failure of the processing equipment of OPS. It is achieved due to the fact that the operating personnel is timely informed on the parameters coming to their limiting values and switching off the failed equipment by automated protection.
Among the significant projects of 2015 implemented as part of technical upgrading of the telemechanics and automation systems there is as well implementation of emergency automation centralized system (EACS) at two long sections of Surgut – Gorky – Polotsk oil trunk pipeline (from Konda LODS (line operation dispatcher station) to Platina LODS) and Urengoy – Kholmogory oil trunk pipeline (from Purpe LODS to Kholmogory OPS). The main task of the system is continuous control for the parameters of oil pumping process and condition of the equipment of the OTP (oil trunk pipeline), detecting emergency situations at the trunk pipeline and protection of the process section of the OTP by means of automatic transfer to safe condition (stop of oil pumping).
The EACS provides complex automated protection of process sections of the pipelines, minimizes influence of human factor on the process of deciding in case of pre-emergency and emergency situations at the linear portion and consequently increases safety and reliability level of oil trunk pipelines operation.
