The work was carried out in January 2016 using a multichannel BGT tool with 28-PRN (28-ПРН) navigation system, and 28-DMU (28-ДМУ) combined magnetic and ultrasonic defectoscope in its DKU (with combined ultrasonic carrier) and DKM (with magnetic carrier) versions.
The BGT tool with 28-PRN navigation system is an in-line inspection gadget developed and manufactured by Transneft Diascan, JSC itself. The gadget is intended for detection, location and assessment of size of defects in the pipeline geometry (buckles, wrinkles, out-of-roundness) and the pipeline position (bend radius and space coordinates).
The 28-DMU combined magnetic and ultrasonic defectoscope is an in-line inspection gadget developed and manufactured by Transneft Diascan, JSC itself which integrates an ultrasonic (WM+CD) and magnetic (MFL) methods of non-destructive testing of the pipe wall. Combination of these characteristics in DMU defectoscope makes it possible to obtain the scope of data which are normally obtained by injection of three defectoscopes of different types. The gadget is intended for detection of risks, disintegration and metal loss defects, as well as for detection of cracks in the pipe and transverse seams.
In 2016 Transneft Diascan, JSC plans to carry out a number of inspections at foreign pipelines. Thus, in February specialists of the Ufa branch are to start calibrating and cleaning the trunk pipelines in Mexico and Kuwait.
