Transneft Druzhba Finalized Revamping of Kuybyshev - Unecha - 2 Oil Pipeline Section

The portion was connected on February 10-12, 2016, during the scheduled oil pipeline shutdown. As part of the technical upgrading and revamping (TU&R) program, a 470 m section was replaced. A similar section of Kuybyshev – Unecha – Mozyr -1 (Druzhba ‑ 1) oil trunk pipeline had been replaced before.

Construction and installation in the area of responsibility of Transneft Druzhba, JSC Michurinsk District Department lasted 14 months and finalized late in 2015. The traffic is heavy in this section of M6 Caspian highway, in Nikiforovsky District, Tambov Region. The revamped oil pipeline section was laid down under the highway by trenchless method, using directional drill unit.

The section was assembled, hydro-tested and connected to the system as scheduled, in compliance with all technical standards and regulations.
