CPC Director Nikolai Brunich made an inspection trip to pump stations under construction

CPC Director Nikolai Brunich made an inspection trip to PS-5 (Stavropol Region) and PS-2 (Republic of Kalmykia) that are under construction as part of the Expansion Project.

During his inspection of PS-5 and interviews with specialists, Nikolay Brunich was informed that site construction work was 93% complete. Oil-in for these pump stations is planned for early September 2016. After successful testing the station will be commissioned for operation.
PS-5 is the second Expansion facility in the Stavropol Krai. PS-4 was put into operation in the same region in late 2015.
The next site that was visited by Nikolai Brunich was PS-2. This is already the third pump station in the Republic of Kalmykia.  Komsomolsk PS was upgraded in the same region under the Expansion project earlier on and PS-3 was commissioned in late 2015.
At a workshop meeting in the Republic of Kalmykia to discuss the outcome of the PS-2 inspection which was attended by representatives of the project management company, contractors and subcontractors, it was noted that the effort at PS-2 was now being stepped up for a timely commissioning of the station for operation. At the moment it is 70% mechanically-complete. The contractors plan to deliver the facility for testing in early November 2016.
CPC General Director set those present the task of increasing the headcount of workers on site for successful fulfillment of the plan and schedule. At the same time Nikolai Brunich asked the leaders to pay particular attention to strict observance of safety measures during all construction activities.
CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.
The Expansion Project includes rehabilitation of 5 existing and construction of 10 additional pump stations (2 in the Republic of Kazakhstan and 8 in the Russian Federation), six new storage tanks (100,000 cu.m each) in addition to the existing four near Novorossiysk and a third SPM at the CPC Marine Terminal, and also the replacement of an 88 km pipeline section in Kazakhstan with a larger diameter pipe. The total amount of the Project investments will be US$ 5.4 billion.
CPC Shareholders: Russian Federation (represented by Transneft – 24% and CPC Company – 7 %) – 31%; Republic of Kazakhstan (represented by KazMunayGaz  – 19% and Kazakhstan Pipeline Ventures LLC – 1.75%) – 20.75%; Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company - 15%, LUKARCO B.V. – 12.5%, Mobil Caspian Pipeline Company – 7.5%, Rosneft-Shell Caspian Ventures Limited – 7.5%, BG Overseas Holding Limited - 2%, Eni International N.A. N.V. - 2% и Oryx Caspian Pipeline LLC – 1.75%.
