Sales volumes for the first three months of 2016 increased 6% year-on-year and amounted to 28.7 million tonnes of coal.
Domestic coal sales volumes grew 8% year-on-year to 17.1 million tonnes as reduced water levels in reservoirs affected hydroelectricity generation and led to stronger demand for coal. Sales volumes to electric power plants consisted of 13.7 million tonnes in the first three months of 2016.
International sales volumes rose 5% year-on-year and amounted to 11.6 million tonnes of coal. China, South Korea, the Netherlands, Japan, Germany, and Taiwan are the main international markets for the SUEK Group
