The railroad train will proceed to the seaport of Vladivostok. Further, the equipment will be transported by boat to Magadan, from where the automotive transport will deliver it to the HPP construction site until the end of May this year.
The contract to manufacture and supply the hydraulic equipment for the third hydropower unit of Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP was signed between OJSC Power Machines and PJSC RusHydro in 2014. In accordance with its terms OJSC Power Machines will supply to Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP the hydro turbine of 142.5 MW capacity, generator complete with the excitation system and automated control system (ACS) of the hydropower unit. It is planned to finish delivering the scope of supply for all equipment by the end of 2016, provide commissioning of the hydropower unit No. 3 of Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP in 2018.
At the moment the works of hydraulic engineers on installation of embedded parts of hydropower unit No. 3 are in progress under the guidance of Power Machines experts. After completion of their installation and concreting, installation of the hydro turbine major components will begin: impeller and guide vane.
The Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP is using two hydropower units: No. 1 and No. 2 manufactured and delivered in early 2000-ies by Power Machines.
Hydropower unit No. 3 is the first machine at Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP, where the permanent impeller will be installed. The temporary impellers are installed on the first two hydropower units designed for low pressure within the range from 24 to 46 m. Thus, after the start of the third hydropower unit it will be possible to provide joint operation of interchangeable impellers of the first start-up complex and standard impeller of the third machine.
The final NPP commissioning will allow implementing large infrastructure projects in the Magadan region. In addition, the hydropower plant will contribute to navigation regulating the Kolyma River flow. New energy capacities will reduce consumption of imported fuel and allow keeping down electricity tariffs by reducing its production costs.
