Апреля 25, 2016

Transneft, jointly with its Kazakh partners, is completing the revamping of the Tuimazy – Omsk – Novosibirsk-2 (TON-2) oil trunk pipeline, through which oil is exported to China.

Transneft, JSC Vice President Sergey Andronov announced this at the third Russia-China summit “Cooperation in the field of investment and technology for the oil and gas” within the 3rd National Oil & Gas Forum in Moscow.

“We are expanding the TON-2 oil pipeline, which currently has a capacity of 7.5 million tonnes. By the beginning of the fourth quarter (or a bit earlier), its capacity will reach 10 million tonnes per year,” he said.

Sergey Andronov added that the capacity of the oil pipeline offshoot from ESPO to China – Skovorodino – Mohe is currently 20 million tonnes. By the end of 2017, Transneft will have finished expanding its capacity and from 1 January 2018, it will be able to transport 30 million tonnes of oil. “Our Chinese colleagues keep assuring us that they will be able to accept such a volume by that time,” said the Company’s vice president.

In 2015, China was supplied with 26.68 million tonnes of oil within the framework of an intergovernmental agreement, it was previously reported.
