Inter RAO Group Sells 100% Stake in Georgian Mtkvari Energy

Mtkvari Thermal Power Plant is located near the town of Gardabani 40 kilometers from Tbilisi. It uses two 300 MW power generation units built in the 1990s and firing natural gas as their primary fuel.

“As per our 2020 development strategy, Inter RAO Group mostly focuses on the development of our business in the Russian Federation,” said Ilnar MIRSIYAPOV, Head of Strategy and Investments Unit of PJSC Inter RAO. “We will continue our active involvement in Georgia in both hydro generation and electricity transmission and retail.”
