Commissioning of the first phase of construction of the Dniester HPSPP in number of three units was carried out by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman. The event was held with participation of General Director of PJSC "Turboatom" Victor Subotin and government delegation.
After start-adjusting and testing the third hydraulic unit successfully reached rated capacity 324 MW. Now all three hydraulic machines connected to United Power Network of Ukraine. This unit was the final in the first phase of construction of Dniester HPSPP.
Commissioning of the first hydraulic unit held in 2009, the second - December 2013, construction of the third was completed in December 2015 in March 2016 it started to idle with rated speed.
Dniester HPSPP is one of the largest infrastructural power facilities, which was implemented in recent years in Ukraine.
The initial project of Dniester HPSPP included seven hydraulic units with total capacity of 2268 MW in generating mode and 2947 MW in pump. Maximum capacity of one hydraulic machine in turbine mode is 390 MW, in pump - 420 MW. Power plant operates in "pump - turbine" mode and can use energy accumulated in the night to generate electricity during peak loads on network.
After commissioning, under chairmanship of Volodymyr Groysman held a meeting regarding energy potential of United Power Network of Ukraine with participation of representatives of regional and local authorities, design, contracting and subcontracting enterprises, manufacturers of equipment and staff of HPSPP. During the meeting Victor Subotin reported on work and manufacturing potential of enterprise, and also invited Prime Minister to visit plant with familiarization visit. Volodymyr Groysman has accepted invitation visit is scheduled for July 2016.
