Kuyumba – Taishet oil trunk pipeline filling with oil is started

During oil pipeline filling the oil started to feed from PEPS-1 Taishet, existing Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean Pipeline System (ESPO-1PS) pipe-end pump station, towards oil pump station Kuyumba, which is located in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and presents the starting point of the new oil pipeline.

Construction of 696.5 km oil trunk pipeline linear portion, Kuyumba pipe-end pump station No. 1 (PEPS-1) and oil pump station No. 2 (PS-2) with 160 thousand m3 total tank capacity, as well as PEPS-1 Taishet extension were performed within the first phase of Kuyumba – Taishet OTP construction project execution.

Three 110/10 kV distribution substations with total installed capacity of 25.6 MW, as well as 326 km long 110 kV double-circuit main electric power transmission line (ETL) were constructed for Kuyumba – Taishet OTP power supply.

Production infrastructure facilities oil filling will be performed gradually: in the initial stage the linear portion of the process sections from PEPS-1 Taishet to PS-2, including trunk oil pipeline underwater crossings through the rivers of Biryusa, Chuna, Angara, will be filled with oil. The final stage will be oil filling of the section from the constructed PS-2 to PEPS-1 Kuyumba. PEPS-1 and PS-2 tanks farms with the total capacity of 160 thousand m3 will be filled with oil during works commencement.

The rated oil volume, to be used for the entire complex of Kuyumba – Taishet oil pipeline facilities filling, will be equal to 240 thousand tonnes. According to the activities execution schedule, oil filling will take about one month.

Comprehensive trial will confirm Kuyumba - Taishet pipeline production infrastructure readiness to receive oil from the northern fields of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Kuyumba – Taishet oil pipeline construction project includes two phases:

- the first phase involves construction of the linear portion, two oil pump stations (PEPS-1 Kuyumba and PS-2) with total tanks capacity of 160 thousand m3, central maintenance division and production service shop arrangement in the Boguchany district of the Kransnoyarsk Territory, as well as PEPS-1 Taishet extension. Oil pipeline delivery capacity will reach 8.6 million tonnes of oil per year.

- the second phase involves two more oil pump stations construction (PS-3 and PS-4) in the Kransoyarsk Territory and Irkutsk Region. Kuyumba – Taishet OTP delivery capacity will reach 15 million tonnes of oil per year.
