A relevant order was signed by Andrey Petrov, Rosenergoatom Concern General Director, on October 31, 2016 based on the approval of the Rosatom State Corporation.
Power Unit 4 of Beloyarsk NPP equipped with a fast-neutron reactor is an innovative Russian design in nuclear power engineering. It has monobloc arrangement that provides for a single high-capacity turbine in conjunction with a hydrogen-free turbogenerator characterized by high efficiency, heat-up margin and safety.
Power Machines' specialists designed, manufactured and supplied a 885 MW steam turbine complete with a 890 MW turbogenerator and auxiliary equipment to Beloyarsk NPP, supervised the installation of the equipment and managed the commissioning and startup.
The contract for supply of the machine hall primary equipment package for the Beloyarsk NPP power unit (with the BN-800 reactor plant) under construction was signed by Power Machines and Engineering Company ZIOMAR (a company of the Rosatom Machine-Building Division - Atomenergomash) in 2007.
Power Unit 4 was connected to the grid on December 10, 2015. The program of works for power start-up at 50% capacity was completed on January 29, 2016. The power unit started operating at full capacity on August 18, 2016.
