Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS Oil Company, Serbia — the most important of Gazprom Neft’s international assets) has successfully completed drilling of exploration well Idos-X-4 in the Neogene deposits of which the Idos-Sever (Northern Idos) field has been discovered at a depth of 2,268 — 2,287 metres.
The Idos-X-4 well was constructed on the basis of the company’s own 3D seismic data and subsequent interpretations. The initial flow rate obtained on well completion totalled 27.8 tonnes of hydrocarbons per day. The new field is currently in pilot development. Development drilling at the Idos-Sever field is expected to being in 2017.
Alexei Vashkevich, Head of Geological Exploration and Resource Base Development, Gazprom Neft, commented: “The complexity of developing new hydrocarbon resources in traditional oil and gas areas — such as the Pannonian oil and gas basin — are connected to the search for smaller reserves. Such reserves are characterised by highly variable geology and, consequently, non-traditional traps. Thanks to improved quality in seismic operations, and to collaboration between Gazprom Neft’s Russian and Serbian subsidiaries, drilling success rates in Serbia reached 83 percent in 2014 and 100 percent in 2015.”
