The equipment was delivered in several stages: the first turbine was delivered to the Mayakovskaya TPP site in October 2016, and the last one was delivered to the Pregolskaya TPP this week. In total, for the three new facilities in the region, the manufacturer, LLC Russian Gas Turbines, has delivered eight turbines with a capacity of 77.9 MW each and a total weight of over eight hundred tons.
Two turbines at the Mayakovskaya TPP in Gusev and two turbines at the Talakhovskaya TPP in Sovetsk have already been installed on the foundations, while auxiliary equipment of the gas turbine plants are being delivered and installed. At the Pregolskaya TPP in Kaliningrad, the installation of four turbines will begin upon completion of the foundations for the main equipment. While this process is under way, the equipment is stored at a warehouse in a special package.
The fact that the Pregolskaya TPP site has a railway branch significantly simplifies the logistics, because the turbines did not have to be transported by trucks. The turbines were transported from the railway station to the sites of the Mayakovskaya and Talakhovskaya TPPs by a road train, and alternate bridges were installed along the route. This made it possible to remove some load from the road bed and to transport the turbines, avoiding the risks of going across the bridges that are not designed for heavy loads, and the risks of destroying the utilities under the roads.
The Pregolskaya TPP (Kaliningrad) with a total capacity of 440 MW consists of four combined-cycle power units with a capacity of 110 MW each, and each power unit includes one 6F.03 gas turbine with a capacity of 77.9 MW, produced by LLC Russian Gas Turbines, one HRSG and one steam turbine with a capacity of 36 MW.
The main equipment of the Mayakovskaya TPP (Gusev) and the Talakhovskaya TPP (Sovetsk), with a capacity of 156 MW each, also includes two 6F.03 GTPs produced by LLC Russian Gas Turbines, with a capacity of 77.9 MW each. These are highly flexible power plants designed to cover peak loads.
