For the purpose of unnecessary property sale, 76 auctions were organised. There were sold more than 3 thousand tons of various metal and equipment that additionally made it possible to earn EUR 1.57 million, sales of other property also helped to earn EUR 0.285 million.
During the auction the unnecessary for the enterprise equipment and property, accumulated within decommissioning projects, execution and performance of dismantling works were sold. Since 2010, more than 45 thousand tons of unnecessary equipment were dismantled, the biggest part of which is going to be realised during auctions after the final radioactive contamination inspection. Such sales help the enterprise not only to earn an additional income, but also to minimize waste quantities to be subjected to disposal and transportation to repositories or landfills.
In addition to selling metal and other property at auctions, Ignalina NPP also earned income from other types of commercial activity. In 2017, INPP additionally earned EUR 317.6 thousand due to other types of activity (EUR 26.6 thousand owing to unclaimed enterprise’s property rent, EUR 45.1 thousand owing to railroad transportation services, EUR 133.5 thousand from compressed air supply, EUR 112.4 thousand earned by providing other type of services).
Additionally earned funds are going to be used for financing the execution of ongoing decommissioning works.
During the decommissioning process since 2010, INPP earned nearly EUR 14 million.
