International consortium started up a second production unit of the Zohr project increasing its production capacity twice to the level of 800 mln standard cubic feet per day. The project is executed under the terms of concession jointly with Italian company Eni S.p.A (60%) and British company BP (10%).
The maximum production capacity of the field is expected to reach 1.2 bln cubic feet per day by May 2018, 2 bln cubic feet per day by end 2018. The project will have plateaued at 2.7 bln cubic feet per day by end 2019.
Rosneft closed the deal to acquire a 30% stake in the concessions agreement for the development of Zohr field, the largest gas field in the Mediterranean Sea, from Italian company Eni S.p.A in October 2017. Its in-place reserves exceed 850 bcm. The gas field was discovered in 2015.
