Enel X Rus, a subsidiary of Enel X, the Enel Group’s advanced energy solutions global business line, through an agreement with distribution system operator “IDGC of Urals”, a subsidiary of Russian energy grid operator PJSC Rosseti, unveiled today the three fast charging stations it provided to the city of Chelyabinsk. Under the agreement, Enel X Rus supplied and commissioned the stations while IDGC of Urals connected them to the grid and carried out installation works under the supervision of Enel X Rus.
Today’s event was attended by Russian Minister of Energy Aleksandr Novak, Acting Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Aleksey Texler, Enel Country Manager in Russia Carlo Palasciano Villamagna, Director General of PJSC Rosseti Pavel Livinskiy, Director General of IDGC of Urals Sergey Dregval, and Head of the Skolkovo Foundation’s energy-efficient technologies cluster Oleg Dubnov.
«Installation of fast charging stations in Chelyabinsk is a step towards the future for the region. The ecological situation is improving and the demand for EVs is growing in the Chelyabinsk region. We are pleased that together with IDGC of Urals and Enel Group the relevant infrastructure is appearing. And it is also crucial from the perspective of touristic attractiveness of the region. I am sure that in the future the first network of charging stations in Chelyabinsk will be augmented», - noted the Acting Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Aleksey Texler.
“The project in Chelyabinsk is the first network of charging stations to be installed in Russia with Enel X technology. Our fast charging stations are equipped with advanced, innovative solutions and are among the most modern generation of chargers. Through partnerships like this one, we are setting an example of how to further contribute to the spread of EVs throughout the country”, - said Carlo Palasciano Villamagna, Enel Country Manager in Russia.
«The opening of EV charging stations is a logical part of digital transformation for our company Rosseti aimed at development of the ancillary services. Importantly charging infrastructure is going in line with the grid one’», - mentioned Pavel Livinskiy, Director General of PJSC Rosseti
“In April we signed an agreement on the development of e-infrastructure with the Chelyabinsk region government and Skolkovo’s participant Enel X Rus and already in August we see first results. I am sure that we will be successful in continuing our cooperation in changing public transport to electric buses. In Skolkovo territory we are testing first Russian electric buses and are ready to share our experience in their usage”, - commented Oleg Dubnov, Vice President, Executive Director of the Energy Efficiency Technology Cluster of the Skolkovo Foundation.
The fast charging stations, which all belong to Enel X’s JuicePump family, have three charging points each: two with a capacity of 50 kW DC and one of 43 kW AC. The stations are able to fill up two EVs at the same time, and can give them up to 200 km charge in just 30-40 minutes. The fast charging stations are installed in three different districts of Chelyabinsk, near a hotel, a business centre and a shopping mall. They are compatible with all electric vehicles currently on the market and are in full compliance with international standards in the field of electric mobility.
The project follows the April 2019 signing of a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) between Enel X Rus, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Chelyabinsk region and the Skolkovo Foundation. The MoI is aimed at enhancing cooperation to boost electric mobility in the region, including through the implementation of an EV charging infrastructure and the adoption of an electric public transport system.
Enel X Rus is a member of the Skolkovo Foundation's energy-efficient technology cluster. The main task of the cluster is to create an environment to support innovative developments related to the introduction of breakthrough technological solutions in the field of production and efficient use of energy resources for development of new industry trends. The Skolkovo Foundation actively supports Enel X Rus.
