The carrier is permanently chartered by the Japanese company Hiroshima Gas, a long-term buyer of Sakhalin Energy. Japan is one of the key markets for Sakhalin LNG in the Asia-Pacific region.
Since the launch of the LNG plant, Sun Arrows has been one of the three most frequent guests of the Prigorodnoye port together with the gas carriers Cygnus Passage and K.Jasmine. The first port call was in April 2009. The vessel has a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters and is classified as a low-tonnage vessel, while its maneuverability and ice flotation allow the carrier to be used in the difficult climatic conditions of Sakhalin Island.
In 2019, Sakhalin Energy shipped about 11.14 mln tonnes of LNG (171.40 standard LNG cargoes) from the port of Prigorodnoye (one standard LNG cargo is 65 thousand tonnes).
