Gazprom Continues to Increase Gas Exports to China via the Power of Siberia Gas Pipeline

Ноября 05, 2020

Gazprom continues to increase gas exports to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline from the Chayandinskoye field. Average daily deliveries in October were 16.9% higher than in September.

The total volume of gas delivered in October amounted to 117.2% of the planned figures for this month due to increased nominations from the Chinese side.
The Power of Siberia is the largest gas transmission system in Russia’s East. It is aimed to transport gas from the Irkutsk and Yakutia gas production centers to consumers in Russia’s Far East and China. Deliveries of Russian pipeline gas to China via Power of Siberia started on December 2, 2019.
On 21 May 2014, Gazprom and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) signed the 30-year Sales and Purchase Agreement for Russian gas to be supplied via the eastern route (the Power of Siberia gas pipeline). The document provides for gas deliveries to China in the amount of 38 bcm per year.
