Balakovo NPP: more than 2.1 bln. kWh of electric power is generated in February

At present Balakovo NPP functions in the predetermined mode of output. Power units No. 2, 3, 4 are in operation with total load of 3 mln. 200 thous. kWh. Power unit No. 1 is in normal repairs.
There are no violations of limits and safety conditions of operations at the nuclear power plant.
Radiation background in town Balakovo and in the area of location of Balakovo NPP conforms to the level of natural background values typical for European part of the Russian Federation.
Balakovo NPP is branch of JSC «Concern Energoatom». The plant is located on the left bank of Saratov water storage of river Volga, 10 km to north-east of Balakovo, Saratov region. The NPP has four power units with modernized reactors VVER-1000 (modification of В-320), designed electric power 1000 MW each. The first power unit was commissioned in 1985, the second – in 1987, the third in 1988 and the fourth in 1994. Balakovo NPP is referred to the group of the largest and modern energy sector enterprises of Russia, providing one fourth of electric power production in Privolzhsky FD. Its power is reliably supplied to consumers of Volga region, South, Center, Urals and Siberia.
