In Moscow, regular meeting of Public council of State corporation Rosatom took place

According to head of Directorate of floating nuclear thermal power plants under construction of JSC «Concern Rosenergoatom» Sergey Zavyalov, construction of FNTPP will promote modernization of fuel and energy complex of several regions of Russia
The most important features of FNTPP are mobility and opportunity of installation in actually any coastal area, including in the areas of permafrost, no necessity in developed infrastructure and large number of personnel.
«Project of FNTPP collected many-years domestic experience of creation and operation of transportation reactor installations, ships and vessels with nuclear power installations. It is performed considering the strictest safety requirements and is the most efficient from economic point of view. It is not by chance that this project interested representatives of some foreign countries of Asia, Latin America and Middle East», — Sergey Zavyalov finished his report.
At present time, construction of the first FNTPP is carried out at Baltic plant in S.-Petersburg. In June of 2010, launching oft the first floating power unit is planned. Start of tests is planned for the end of 2011, delivery to the customer – at the end of 2012.
Members of Public council asked about matters of energy efficiency and main parameters of FNTPP project. On assignment of the Council chairman, Director General of State corporation «Rosatom» Sergey Kirienko, answers to questions on FNTPP project will be published on web site of the Public council.
Deputy Minister of radiation and ecologic safety of Chelyabinsk region Svetlana Kostina represented to members of the Council the social and economic program of rehabilitation of radiation contaminated areas of the region. This program provides measures on rehabilitation of floodplain of river Techa and restoration of territory of village Muslyumovo.
«In 2006 due to initiative of new management of Rosatom, work was started on solving of social and ecological problems of contaminated territories of our region. Nowadays settling of village Muslyumovo is actually finished. And on behalf of Chelyabinsk region I express gratitude to the State corporation for systems approach to these matters», – noted Svetlana Kostina.
Moreover, member of the Council discussed results of their work in 2009. deputy chairman of Public council Anatoly Nazarov spoke of the main measures. The Council members actively participated in public hearings at regional sites of deployment of the state corporation objects, scientific conferences and seminars, initiated preparing and publishing of reports on ecologic safety of enterprises of Rosatom, became authors of series of public ecological expertises. Significant attention was paid to measures in the framework of project «Rosatom culture territory».
«In 2009, Public council developed both customary areas of its work, and started new ones. For instance, we again made sure how important are cultural events and educational projects for population of the region», — said Anatoly Nazarov.
In the end of the meeting, deputy chairman of the Council Sergey Baranovsky reminded about preparing of regular International Forum-Dialogue «Nuclear power, society, safety», which will take place in S.-Petersburg on 20–21 April of 2010.
