Beloyar NPP-2: works are in progress at all objects of the BN-800 under construction

For the reactor compartment, concreting of walls to the level of 11.9 meters is performed, transportation and installation of bottoms block from assembly building into vault of BN-800 reactor is finished. In the steam generating compartment, walls concreting to the level of 16 meters. In the turbine island foundations for the equipment are being concreted. Walls and ceilings of special building are also being concreted, works at the unit pumping station, pumphouse of automatic fire-extinguishing system, objects of physical protection system are carried out.
At the present moment, number of the staff engaged at construction site of BN-800 makes more than 2560 people.
In the administration meeting, representatives of management of State corporation «Rosatom», Directorate of Beloyar NPP-2 under construction, Standard supplier of equipment and Chief designer of reactor installation (OKBM), General contractor (Management company «Uralenergostroy»), General designer (SPb AEP), machine builders (REMKO), VNIIAES and mounters of PO «Uralenergomontazh» participated.
Beloyar NPP is the first NPP in large nuclear energy sector of the country, and the only one with various types reactors on one site. At Beloyar NPP the only power unit in the world with fast neutron reactor BN-600 of industrial capacity level is operated. Power unit with fast neutron reactor BN-800 is under construction. Fast neutron power units are purposed to increase considerably fuel basis of nuclear energy sector and minimize radioactive waste due to arrangement of closed nuclear and fuel cycle. First power units of Beloyar NPP with reactors on thermal neutrons AMB-100 and AMB-200 exhausted their resource.
