According to Timur Akchurin, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the biggest contribution to reducing emissions is made by TATNEFT Company, which divisions currently operate 43 installations of hydrocarbon vapor recovery. TATNEFT has developed and approved a program of action for the rational utilization of associated petroleum gas (APG) up to 2013. If in 2008 the APG utilization ratio amounted to 94.6% of its production, then in 2010 this figure is projected to reach 97.8%.
Ravil Gareev, Head of Technological Office for Corrosion Control and Nature Conservation of OAO TATNEFT briefed members of the Scientific and Technical Council on various activities of the Company to reduce the impact on the environment.
Following the Scientific and Technical Council meeting decisions have been taken, which include proposals of the meeting participants to coordinate actions of supervisory bodies to improve environmental monitoring, etc.
