Марта 31, 2010

The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Alexander Tkachev, Governor of the Krasnodar Krai.

The parties reviewed the implementation of the Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Krasnodar Krai Administration.
Alexey Miller and Alexander Tkachev discussed the projects being implemented by Gazprom in compliance with the Program for the construction of Olympic facilities and development of Sochi as a mountain-climatic resort. It was stressed that the activities were on schedule. For instance, today Gazprom has set to constructing the offshore section of the Dzhubga – Lazarevskoye – Sochi gas pipeline. The meeting also touched upon the gasification of the Krasnodar Krai, namely, the Olympic facilities.
Additional focus was placed on the future construction of gas transmission facilities in the Krasnodar Krai to secure gas delivery into the South Stream gas pipeline.
Gazprom and the Krasnodar Krai Administration signed the Agreement of Cooperation in February 2004.
In November 2007 the Federal Law was adopted “On organizing and holding the 2014 XXII Winter Olympic Games and XI Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi, developing Sochi as a mountain-climatic resort and amending certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation”. Pursuant to the document, the Russian Government approved the Program for the construction of Olympic facilities and development of Sochi as a mountain-climatic resort.
According to the Program, Gazprom is responsible for constructing the following Olympic facilities:
    * a combined ski and biathlon complex accommodating 16 thousand people;
    * a  mountain tourist center;
    * the Dzhubga – Lazarevskoye – Sochi gas pipeline;
    * the Adler combined heat and power station (CHPS).
The combined ski and biathlon complex will comprise a brand-new ski stadium, two motorways, ski race tracks equipped with snowmaking systems, aerial ropeways, a hotel, a cottage zone, as well as energy supply, security and communication facilities. The stadium is to be completed in 2011.
The mountain tourist center will embrace ski tracks and aerial ropeways. The center construction is to be accomplished in  2013.
The Dzhubga – Lazarevskoye – Sochi gas pipeline will provide steady energy supply to Sochi, deliver gas to the Olympic facilities being built, give a powerful impetus to gasification development in  Sochi and the Tuapse District and considerably reduce the energy deficit on the Caucasian coast of the Black Sea. Initiated on September 28, 2009, the gas pipeline construction is to be completed in the second quarter of 2010.
The Adler CHPS will be built in 2012.
The average gasification level in the Krasnodar Krai accounts for 76.1 per cent including 82.7 per cent in cities and towns and 67.8 per cent in the rural area. The identical figures throughout Russia stand at 63.2, 67.5 and 45.5 per cent accordingly.
Between 2002 and 2009 Gazprom invested over RUB 4 billion in the Krasnodar Krai gasification. In 2010 the Company is going to allocate RUB 3  billion for the same purposes.
