Construction of the combine cycle plant (CCP) at the operational CHPP 6 is part of Diadema priority investment program of IES. The project is code-named Malachite.
Siemens equipment will be installed at the new combine cycle plant. In September 2009, the most advanced SGT-800 turbines were delivered to the CHPP 6. The power generation unit, composed of two SGT-800 turbines and a steam turbine, will feature the capacity of 124 MW and its full efficiency rate will reach 87%.
The construction site is still busy with erection of the main building for the new power generation unit. Currently the erection of 397 tons of construction steelwork is underway (the total of 1,083 tons will be erected). The main equipment is being prepared for installation.
The Malakhit project is one of the key priorities for the development of the Perm Territory energy system. It will help increase the installed electric power capacity of the power plant almost threefold - to nearly 180 MW, and the heat capacity - from 733.5 GCal/h to 830 GCal/h. The newly added heat power will enable to supply additional heat to more than 50,000 apartments.
