Beloyar NPP will be visited by delegations from China

The first delegation consisted of representatives of Chinese national nuclear company CNNC, which has already built in cooperation with Russia and in this year performs commissioning of experimental fast neutron reactor in China. Participants of the delegation will familiarize themselves with functioning power unit BN-600 of Beloyar NPP and construction site of power unit BN-800 under construction.
The second delegation includes representatives of Chinese scientific and industrial organizations: Institute of nuclear power, Center of nuclear and radiation safety, Engineering company of nuclear power sector. Their plans also include familiarization with experience of operation of BN-600 and construction site of BN-800, as well as visiting of training simulator of BN-600.
Contract for performing of front end engineering design for construction of two power units with fast neutron reactors BN-800 in China was signed in 2009 in the course of visit of Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in PRC. Beloyar NPP is the only plant in the world where power unit with fast neutron reactor BN-600 has been operated for already 30 years. Here also construction of new power unit with a more powerful reactor BN-800, analogues of which are planned for construction in China.
