According to Andrey Pyataev, operations director at Orenburgneft, the advantage of the technology is in its sparing nature, which preserves or increases the energy resource of the productive formation by reducing the weight of the liquid column in the well. The treatment produces a gas-liquid mix that creates a drawdown on the formation, resulting in strong expulsion of reaction products from the well. “The project was launched in March 2010 with an operation in Well 717 at the Pokrovskoe field. This increased the flow-rate from 7 to 20 tons per day – an increment of 13 tons per day. Four more such operations are planned to assess both the extent and duration of the improvement”, noted Pyataev.
