The annual production accounts for some 18 billion cubic meters gas consumed by power generating stations and fertilizer plants. Bangladesh’s proven gas reserves reach circa 400 billion cubic meters. The major fields are located in the eastern districts of the country – Comilla and Sylhet.
Petrobangla is a state-owned monopoly in the oil and gas industry of Bangladesh.
