The Kamennoye field is one of the largest projects run by the company with annual development investments totalling 200 million dollars. In 2010 the field will yield around 3 million tons of oil, surpassing the 2009 production levels by 50%. In the next three years TNK-BP specialists are planning to reach the sustainable production level of 3.5 million tons.
TNK-BP transitioned to aggressive development at the Kamennoye field and in adjacent areas in 2006 following an analysis of difficult-to-produce oil occurrences based on advanced technologies and primarily, 3D seismic surveys. The “Oil-field of the Future” project that has been underway at the Kamennoye field implements remote production management technologies reducing the overall environmental impact.
In 2011 TNK-BP is planning to finalise the construction of a 72 megawatt gas turbine power station in the framework of the associate gas conversion programme currently underway at the Kamennoye field. The estimated rate of associated gas utilization at the field will reach 95% in 2012.
TNK-BP continues with its appraisal and production optimisation efforts at other Krasnoleninsk Crest sites, primarily, at the Em-Egovskoye and Talinskoye fields.
“Thanks to the advanced technologies and a great job done by a team of solid professionals, today we can confidently say that Nyagan fields have enormous potential. This area is one of the key production hubs for TNK-BP. The total of 11 billion roubles were invested into the development of the Krasnoleninsk Crest in 2009 and the total volume of investments channelled into these fields by TNK-BP since its inception reached 60 billion roubles. Sustainable growth displayed by the company’s enterprises helps create new jobs and incentivises local industrial development, thus contributing to greater overall prosperity of the region”, said Sergey Brezitsky, Executive Vice-President, Upstream.
