Russian embassy thanked SOCAR and MES

The Russian embassy sent a note to the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister. The note expresses gratitude to the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet of SOCAR and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan for taking an active part in rescuing the Kayakend fishing vessel sailing under the Russian flag and its crew during the fire on the night of March 12.

In the result of the activity of Azerbaijani sailors and rescuers, 15 crew members and a vessel with a cargo on board were rescued which was highly appreciated by the embassy. The document states that the Azerbaijani seamen's rescuing the ship, sailing under the Russian flag, is another demonstration of the friendly relations between the two countries. The rescue works during the fire on the vessel were carried out by the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet’s Gultekin Askerova tow boat and Vikhr-9 fire vessel. The fire on Kayakend vessel was extinguished by the Vikhr-9 ship.
