Volgograd Oblast Arbitration Court Imposes a RUR 1.5 Million Fine on LLC AZS-Trading for Violating “TNK” Trademark Rights

The inquiry into the matter concluded that 7 retail outlets located in Volgograd and the Volgograd oblast owned by AZS Trading used images resembling OJSC TNK-BP Holding trademarks to a fault as well as colour palettes identical to those of “TNK” trademarks.
In addition to awarding damages for the copyright violation the court ordered AZS-Trading to dismantle all “Tymenskaya Neftyanaya Kompaniya” signage at all petrol stations and publish the court ruling in the Media.
An opinion issued earlier by the Volgograd olbast anti-trust service branch confirmed that this company did indeed use the “TNK” sign unlawfully.
